So I have been very neglectful this summer in posting to my blog - mostly because something happened with my old one and I cannot get back into it! I hope that everyone has found or will find this one soon - I will try to leave comments with the new address on everyone's blogs ASAP.
Life has been insane. After Dad's visit I went to King Of Prussia with my sister-in-law. I was the chauffer because she is NOT a city driver. She goes there every June to a show where she buys product for the gift shop she works in. This is the second year I have done this with her (and her co-worker, Bev) and it is really a good time! It also provides some very welcome "non-responsible" time since Nina stays home with her dad.

July was uneventful tripwise but VERY busy and ended with Nina's birthday. She wanted a spiderman birthday so I got a spiderman cake pan and did this cake for her. It looked great right up until the time I got into the shower and then when I came out she had licked huge chunks of frosting off of it. When I scolded her for doing it she replied, "Well it is MY cake!" I had to pick up another one at the grocery store on the way home from our annual birthday trip to Build a Bear to feed the family that night. Unfortunately I was too upset to think to get an "after" picture so you only get the "before." She did have a great day.
In August we were surprised by a visit from my stepson and his family who lives in Florida. They came and we had to leave them in Canisteo as we drove down to Missouri to get Cory from Basic/AIT training at Ft. Leonard Wood. It was a wonderful graduation ceremony and he is very proud of himself and his accomplishments there. He is an MP with the Army National Guard and plans to start school in the spring. We were able to spend the week after we got back visiting with Chip and family and it was very fun to get reacquainted with everyone.

I started my first MBA class on Aug 24, International Marketing. I think it will be a very interesting class. Nina started Pre-K today and was excited but nervous. We got there and she was happy to see all her friends from preschool but there were new kids there too and new teachers so she was stuck to my leg for a bit. She was supposed to find her name from the pile of names on the table which at first she wouldn't do but then I started to pick up every name but hers and asking her if it was hers. She finally realized I was being silly and said, "Mom! It is right here!" and picked it up. We hung up her coat and back pack and pulled out her supplies so she could color with the rest of the kids and then she was fine so I booked it out of there! I think she will really like it and I am happy to have the structure and routine back in our lives again.
Happy Fall!
I didn't know so much was going on. No wonder we didn't find each other much on IM.
ReplyDeleteDarling backpack - noted it's blue and NOT PINK! What happened. I'm sure Nina will have a great year in Pre-K. Won't be very many clingy days.
